Electrical Permits and Inspections

The Electrical Program conducts electrical inspections to ensure the safety of all Washington citizens, whether at home or at work.

The Dept. of Information Services will be upgrading SAW on 1/10/09, between 12 – 4 AM. You won't be able to login to SAW to use Electrical Permit & Inspection System (EPIS) during that time.

EPIS changes
EPIS now has the ability for customers to pay additional fees online once they have been added by L&I staff.

Important Information
Effective 12/31/08, the electrical permit fees will return to their previous rate of two years ago. The temporary fee reduction that has been in effect since 1/1/07, will no longer be valid per WAC 296-46B-906.

Electrical Plan Review
All electrical plans for new or altered electrical installations in educational, institutional, and health or personal care occupancies must be reviewed and approved before the electrical installation or alteration is started. Find out more.

City Electrical Inspectors

Check this list to find out if your city does its own electrical inspections. If they do and you live inside your city limits, you will need to contact them to get your electrical permit and inspection.
